Princess of Harmonia Chapter 8 - Start of a Journey

Rindiny: That was pretty quick.

Touko: You actually got it down early? And... OH MY GOD IT'S N!

Rindiny: You little- You just spoiled- UGH!

Touko: Wrong. You spoiled it even more by SAYING it was a spoiler!

Rindiny: Somebody get me a box, I'm shipping this girl to Africa.

Touko: Well. You can't because you can only mail me through ferriswheelshipping. Sooooo. You can't ship me to Africa.

Rindiny: Damn it.

--------------------

"Toukoooo! Come down darling! Your friends are here!"

"Coooooomiiiiiing!" Touko was in her room of her house. She was now a fifteen year old teenager. She wasn't a child anymore. But that still didn't hold her back in having fun!

"Touuuukoo! Bianca is getting impatient!" Annabel exclaimed. Touko sighed, rolling her eyes, she put her shoes on and ran down the stairs in a swift movement. She was met by a blonde girl with a big green hat.

"Touko! Come on! We have to go now! To the professors lab!" Bianca exclaimed pulling her friend out the door. "Thank you Mrs. White!"

"Anytime! Come back soon!" Annabel waved to her daughter. Bianca and Touko were walking side by side to the lab, Bianca was literally skipping there.

"Bianca. Did my cousin ask you out?" Touko asked. Bianca stopped skipping to look at her friend.

"Touya? No. Why?" She answered truthfully, placing a finger to her lips.

"Well. You're all skippy and happy. What's that all about?"

"Touko! We're getting our very own Pokemon! Didn't you know?" Bianca exclaimed.

"Errr. No not really." Touko said.

"Hey.. What happened to all of your Pokemon that you had when you were little?" Bianca asked.

"M-my.. Oh... ummm.. Yeah. They're at home...!" Touko replied. Bianca shrugged, but then they knocked on the door, and who opened was Touya. "Oh! Cousin! Hi!" Touko exclaimed, quickly changing the subject. He raised an eyebrow at her, and stepped aside to let them in.

"We were going to pick our Pokemon without you!" Touya said, crossing his arms as they all walked to the desk where the Poke Balls were. "Bianca, what took you so long?"

"Well. Excuse me if she was taking so long!" Bianca frowned. Puffing her cheeks in frustration.

"Please, cousin, we all know you were still waiting for Bianca to come. Because you know if you would go ahead without her, she would get angry at you. And that's the LAST thing you want happening." Touko smiled. He glared at his cousin and rolled his eyes.

"Whatever." He said. Cheren was there too. He rolled his eyes at his friend's antics and fixed the position on his glasses.

"Well. Shall we get started then?" Cheren began saying.

"Ladies first." Touya said, with his arms still crossed.

"Yaaaaay!" Bianca exclaimed, jumping in happiness. She went over to the multiple Poke Balls that were there. There were three each, making a total of nine Poke Balls. There were at least three each of the trio'd starters, and Bianca was finding it hard to pick. "Hmmmm...."

"I know I'm picking Oshawott!" Touko exclaimed, grabbing a Poke Ball in the Oshawott row.

"Tepig for meeeeeee!" Bianca giggled, picking hers.

"Our turn." Touya smiled. "I was going for Oshawott too, but it doesn't matter." He picked up an Oshawott ball and smiled down at it.

"Well. Since you all insist on leaving Snivy out, I might as well pick it." Cheren replied, picking up one of the Poke Balls with Snivy inside.

"Oh! Oh! I have an idea! Let's let them out so we can meet them!" Bianca exclaimed.

"That's not a bad idea." Touya said, "Go! Oshawott!"

"Come on out!" They all sent their respective Pokemon out, and they all stared at each other and looked up at their new trainers.

"Aww! You're such a cute little piggy!" Bianca exclaimed, grabbing Tepig and hugging him, receiving a snort from the little pig, and a ring of smoke to emit. He was happy, smiling at his new caring trainer. Touya looked down at the Oshawott as she went to hug his leg.

"Oshaaa. Oshawott!" She smiled, tapping him. Blinking her big eyes.

"A girl, huh?" He said, picking up the female Pokemon. "You're cool."

"Hey. No kidding. This little guy is all over me!" Touko said as the Oshawott she had was jumping around her and crawling up her hair. He layed on her shoulder and smiled.

"Oshaa wott!" He said.

"Sneeee!" The Snivy replied, looking up and down at his trainer. He crossed his arms and smirked. Cheren smirked too, raising up his glasses.

"We're going to get along just fine." Cheren replied. The Snivy's smirk widened and crawled up Cheren with speed and was on his shoulder in an instant.

"Don't we have to give them.. You know... Names?" Bianca said. "I know! I'm naming my little Piggy... Embo!"

"I think.. I'll name her.. Azul.." Touya said.

"Do you like the name Watt?" Touko asked. "Osha... Wott!"

"Nicknaming is pointless. Don't you agree Snivy?" Cheren asked, knowing the little Pokemon would agree.

"Sniivy!" It said, looking proud.

"Oh come on. You have to give him a name! It brings you and your Pokemon together!"

"Just forget it Bianca, you can't convince Mr.Smartass over there." Touya said. "I bet Azul can kick your Snivy's ass any day."

The Snivy was fuming. He looked at Cheren, as he fixed his glasses. "Is that a challenge, Touya?" said Cheren.

"You bet it is, Cheren!" Touya exclaimed.

"But not in HERE!" Bianca said. "We don't wanna mess up the Professor's lab!"

"Bianca's right. We'll get in so much trouble!" Touko said.

"Alright then. Outside!" Touya smirked, everyone running outside. Both new trainers eyeing each other down. Before their Pokemon got ready for a fight.

"You can start nowwww!" Bianca cried.

"Ladies first. Touya." Cheren said. Touya frowned, his hands forming into fists.

"Wouldn't want to be a bad sport. Why don't you go first?"

"If you insist." Cheren said. "Snivy! Use tackle!"

"Osha!" Azul exclaimed, Snivy was running forward, launching for his attack. "Azul! Dodge and use tackle!" Azul jumped out of Snivy's way. She turned around and slammed her head against Snivy's back and sent him flying to a tree.

"Quick! Snivy! Use leer!"
"Azul! Use tail whip!"

"OSHA!"
"SNIVY!"

They both used their moves at the same time, lowering each others defense.

"Quick! Snivy! Finish her off with a tackle!" Cheren commanded.

"Azul. You can do this. Use tackle!!" Touya said. Both Pokemon ran forward and tackled one another. Bumping their heads together, they fell back. Everyone was silent. Until Cheren's Snivy stumbled up first, smirking down at Azul.

"Looks like I win Touya." Cheren said, about to walk over. But Bianca watched at Azul was moving slightly.

"No wait. Look!" Bianca said. Touya was wide eyed to see Azul stumble up, a smile on her face.

"Oshaa....Oshawott!" She exclaimed, before staying up and glaring down Snivy. Until a few seconds later, Snivy was so tired he fell to the ground, fainted.

"Well. We win Cheren." Touya said.

"Hmm.. It was a good fight. Your Oshawott did well for her first battle. As did you, my friend." Cheren said, putting away his Snivy in his Poke Ball.

"That was so cool!" Bianca exclaimed. "Cool! Cool! Cool! Coo-"

"OK. Beebee. We get it." Touko smiled. "I wonder where the Professor is?"

"I was watching you two. You two were astounding for your first battle." It was Professor Juniper.

"OH! Hey Professor!" Touko exclaimed.

--------------------------

"Soooooo... Where are we headed?" Bianca asked.

"We're going to the next town Bianca! Isn't it obvious?" Touya asked.

"Well... sorry for asking.." Bianca pouted. "I just thought we could take our time. I mean. There's no rush.."

"THAT'S true." Cheren glared at Touya.

"Sorry, Bianca." Touya said.

"OK OK! Enough guys! Why don't we catch some Pokemon first before we do that?" Touko asked. "I mean... Wait. What am I saying? LET'S TRAIN THEM TOO!"

"YEAH! LET'S CATCH SOME POKEMON WITH THE POKE BALLS THE PROFESSOR GAVE US!" Bianca yelled, running into the tall grass with Embo. Cheren merely walked on ahead. Looking for Pokemon on his own.

"How you fell in love with that girl, I will never know." Touko smirked, leaving Touya behind to stare at Bianca.

"H-hey! I didn't fall in love with her! I fell MADLY in love with her!" Touya said.

"There's a difference?" Touko asked.

------------------------------

An hour later, Touko was in on the hunt and training her Oshawott. (Who was now level 7.) Everyone seemed to have found an extra Pokemon, except for her. She grunted in anger.

"We can't find a single Pokemon, Watt.. What am I gonna do?"

"Osha wott! Osha wott! Osha wott!" He exclaimed, jumping up and down.

"What is it?" Touko asked. She turned around. Seeing a familiar Pidove nearby. "Is that... who I think it is?" The pidove was cleaning it's wings when it glanced at her, and it's eyes widened.

"Piiii!!" It chirped, before swooping down to Touko and tackling her face.

"Pato!!" Touko yelled, hugging the little bird Pokemon to her chest. "I missed you so much!!"

"Piii! Piii!" He said, rubbing his head against her face.

"Osha wott! Osha wott!" Oshawott bounced up and down.

"Pii! Pii!" Pato exclaimed. Now sitting on Touko's shoulder.

"You wanna join us on our adventure?" Pato nodded his head, while Touko took out a Poke Ball and put it to his head. It engulfed Pato, and soon, he was caught. Touko touched the button, and Pato emerged from the Poke Ball. Watt smiled.

"Welcome back..." Touko smiled down at her Poke Ball. She looked down at Watt. "Well. Let's go! They're probably waiting for us!"

"Osha!" Watt responded, walking alongside Touko. Pato was on her shoulder once more as she walked along the grass, until she saw her cousin near by as she entered Accumula Town.

"Cousin? Where's Cheren and Bianca?" Touko asked now standing in front of him.

"Probably still looking for Pokemon. I didn't see any Pokemon I'd want on my team. You?"

"I caught a Pidove." She said with a smile, showing him Pato on her shoulder.

"Well, congrats on your first catch." He replied. "I've been standing here, and I'm pretty curious as to what's going on over there. Look at all those people. You think this place is holding some festival or something?"

"Let's go and see!" Touko said, Watt jumped on her shoulder too. While Azul was on Touya's shoulder. They both ran to see, and saw a lot of men, standing as a row, with a green-haired man standing in the front. Touko got a sudden feeling of Deja vu coming, and placed a hand on her head.

"My name is Ghetsis." The man in the cloak began, moving around, watching and staring at the people that were listening. "I am here representing Team Plasma. Today, ladies and gentlemen, I would like to talk to you about Pokemon liberation."

"Huh?"

"What?" The crowd was uneasy, as he had begun is speech with a topic no one expected.

"What nonsense is this?" Touya whispered.

"I'm sure most of you believe that we humans and Pokemon are partners that have come to live together because we want and need each other... However...Is that really the truth? Have you ever considered that perhaps we humans... Only assume this is the truth?" He paused and took a few steps more before speaking once more. "Pokemon are subject to the selfish commands of Trainers... They get pushed around when they are our "partners" at work... Can anyone say with confidence that there is no truth in what I'm saying?"

"Yikes!"

"No way..."

"I don't know!" Everyone was looking at each other and some talking under their breaths. Touko looked amongst the crowd and saw another young man with green hair similar to that man. He had his arms crossed, his black and white hat covering his face. His skin was pale, he looked really interested in what this man had to say. He turned his head slowly to look around, and Touko quickly looked forward so as not to be caught. She hid next to Touya, to avoid his gaze to her direction. Ghetsis continued talking.

"Now, ladies and gentlemen, Pokemon are different from humans. They are living beings that contain unknown potential, from whom we humans have much to learn. Tell me, what is our responsibility toward these wonderful beings called... Pokemon?"

"What could it be?"

"Liberation?"

"That's right! We must liberate the Pokemon!" Then, and only then, will humans and Pokemon truly be equals. Everyone, I end my words here today by imploring you to consider the relationship between people and Pokemon... and the correct way to proceed. We sincerely appreciate your attention." When he finished, two of the many men that were in the row retrieved their flag, and proceeded to leave with Ghetsis in an orderly fashion. Leaving the people there to ponder what were they to do with their Pokemon.

"About that speech... What do you think we should do?" An older man said, the crowd went silent to this, everyone was looking at each other, confused.

"Liberate Pokemon? That's not even possible!" A younger man said, after he said that everyone had left, leaving Touya and Touko there standing.

"Oshaaa... Osha wott..." Watt cooed sadly, looking at Touko. Pato did too, both of them giving her the pouty stare. She smiled at both of them.

"Don't worry. I won't leave you two. You're both my friends now! And friends stick together till the end!" Touko said. "Right?" They both looked at each other and hugged Touko.

"Osha!"

"Pii!!"

"Osha?" Azul asked Touya.

"That goes for us too Azul." Touya smiled. She bounced on his shoulder and grinned, a happy smile on her face.

"This Pokemon liberation is a phony! There's no way they're separating US!" Touko said. "YOU HEAR THAT GHETSIS!!? I'M STAYING WITH MY POKEMON FRIENDS! WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!"

"Shh!! He might hear you!" Touya exclaimed, just then, the young man that Touko was looking at earlier was walking towards her. Touya tapped her shoulder, and pointed behind her. Her grin disappeared, as she was face to face with this mysterious young man.

"Hey... Ummm... what's up?" Touya asked.

"Your Pokemon. Just now, it was saying-"

"Whoa! Slow it down, man! You talk way too fast!" Touya exclaimed. "And Pokemon... talking? That's kinda of a weird thing to say... don'tcha think?"

"Yes, they're talking." He replied with this ill attitude. Then his face softened. "Oh.. Then, you two can't hear them, either... How sad."

"Hey! What's the big idea!?" Touya said. "You don't need to sound SNOTTY about it! Calm down!"

"My name is N." He said, ignoring his outburst.

"My name is Touya. This is Touko. WE were asked to complete the Pokedex and we just left on our journey. What about you?" Touya asked.

N raised his eyebrow under his cap, looking down at both of them with disgust. "The Pokedex, eh?" He frowned at them. "So... You're going to confine many, many Pokemon in Poke Balls for that, then."

"Hold on just a second- What is your deal?" Touko asked. "You're acting as though we make them our prisoners!" He was now looking down at her and smiled, almost like a smirk.

"You haven't done anything to me- But you trainers. You are going to confine Pokemon to Poke Balls to place them in that retched machine called a Pokemon Storage Box as if they were items for your pleasure." He gave this particular nasty look to Touko. "I'm a Trainer, too, but I can't help wondering... Are Pokemon really happy that way?"

"Well, not ALL Pokemon think the same, just look at me and Azul! We just met a few hours ago, and we're already best friends!" Touya said.

"That goes for me and Watt, too!" Touko exclaimed. "And Pato? I had him since he was a baby. I set him free along with two other Pokemon. He had an injured wing, and I helped him recover, and after he was healed; I set him free where he belonged, with other Pidoves. But look. Ten years later. He comes back to me. Now what does that tell you? Is Pato really unhappy to be in a Poke Ball right now? Is Watt? Is Azul? Do they look like they wanna be liberated any time soon?" N glanced at both Pokemon as they had frowns on their faces. N sighed, listening to them as they spoke to him.

'She's right. I'm not leaving her side! She's my Trainer, and more than that. She's my friend!' Watt said.

'I'm not going anywhere. There's no way my Trainer is leaving me just for some speech some wannabe said. He could swallow his words for all I care.' Azul exclaimed.

'I'm not making the same mistake on leaving Touko. I only left because she thought I would be happy living in the wild. But now that I've come back, I'm not ever leaving her side.' Pato said. 'She's not only my trainer, she was my best friend when I needed her. And now that I'm along side her. She's not only my best friend. She's my mother!'

N was shocked speechless at this. He blinked, staring at Pato for the longest time, then at Touko, who had a frown of her own. N laughed, a small grin appearing on his face.

"Well, Touko, is it? Let your Pokemon prove themselves to me." N said, retrieving a Poke Ball from his waist. It enlarged, as he looked down at Touko.

"Touko! It's a challenge! Go! Kick his ass!" Touya exclaimed.

"Which one of you is up for a battle right now?" Touko asked, a smirk of her own. Both Touko and N backed away, giving room for their Pokemon.

"Piiii!" Pato said, looking riled up, he flew down from her shoulder and right in front of her. N frowned, he threw his Poke ball in the air.

"My friend. I am in need of your assistance." He said. His Pokemon appeared in front of him, and the Poke Ball bounced back to his hand. A purple cat was now on the battlefield. A Purrloin.

Touko looked at the cat carefully, and was just plain shocked. The cat's eyes widened, and so did Pato's eyes.

N quickly noted all of their faces, and raised an eyebrow. "I take it.. This was the trainer that had set you free... Was it not? Sparta?"

"Sparta?" Touko said.

"Pii!" Pato exclaimed, flapping his two wings. Remembering him perfectly well. The Purrloin hissed at Touko and Pato.

"He is angry with you." N said.

"I can see that!" Touko exclaimed.

"Touko, I thought you said you kept your Pokemon, and that they were at your house." Touya replied.

"Nyaaaaah!!" Sparta yowled, there was a moment of silence.

"....I hate you." N said out of nowhere.

"Huh????" Touko and Touya were now confused.

"That is what he said. 'I hate you.'...." N said. "Sparta. Faint attack...."

"Nyaaaaaah!!!" Sparta yelled before disappearing and then was seen running forward and tackling Pato, sending him tumbling back in pain.

"Pato!" Touko said.

"This is what forms when a Pokemon is under a trainers care... He no longer sees you as a friend! Use Growl."

Sparta growled at Pato and lowered his attack power. Pato tried getting up from that attack, and Touko was speechless. He was hit hard by that move, but Pato still got up none the less.

"Why are you not commanding Pato? Do you not care what happens to him? Is what I said about Pokemon hating Trainers the truth?" N asked. "Or are you thinking is it really worth capturing Pokemon and sending them to the storage boxes as prisoners? Pokemon liberation is the BEST thing that you could do to your Pokemon. And if your Pokemon can't prove their ideals, then what Ghetsis had said was true. Sparta. Finish him with Scratch."

"Nyaaahhh!" Sparta said, jumping in the air, his claw at ready.

"Touko!!" Touya yelled. Pato waited for a command from Touko. Her eyes widened, she took out her Poke Ball and called him back inside. Sparta hit the floor, the spot where Pato was was no empty. N lowered his head, and laughed out loud. Sparta walked back in front of N, and jumped on his shoulder.

"Pity. Such a darling Pokemon Pato is, but his trainer has yet to prove her worth." He pet Purrloin on the head as he purred.

"Hey! Don't talk like that about my cousin like she's some street rat!" Touya yelled. N looked back up at Touko, seeing her looking at her Poke ball with a questioning look.

"As long as Pokemon are confined in Poke balls... Pokemon will never become perfect beings. I have to change the world for Pokemon, because they're my friends." N said softly. Then his face was serious. "Sparta. You are free to go."

Sparta's eyes widened and looked back at N, not believing what he was saying. Touko couldn't believe what he had just said either! She looked up at N.

"What!? Why are you setting him free??" Touko asked.

"Because... I shall not confine him to something he does not like." He said, with anger in his voice.

'What? Why?' Sparta replied.

"You said you hated being in a Poke Ball... So you are free to go back to your home, my friend." N said.

'My... home?' Sparta looked back at Touko and he frowned, looking back at N.

"Did you not want your revenge on the trainer that had left you?" N said.

'.....' Sparta went silent at this. N grabbed Sparta softly, petting him on the head before he turned around to leave, walking away from the Purrloin.

Sparta just stood there in grief. He didn't want to leave N, but he knew this was going to happen because the young man and him had made a deal. But now, Sparta turned to gaze at Touko. Touya watched as the scene unfold silently.

She looked down at him with a sad face. She bent down on her knees and called Sparta over.

"Sparta... Come here...Come here, Sparta.." Touko called. Sparta hissed at her again, and Watt looked like he was ready to water gun his furry ass out of there.

Sparta's eyes were watering. Remembering when she had set him free, like all those other trainers that had left him for dead.

'You're a no good liar, Touko. You said you would be there for me.' Sparta hissed angrily.

"Sparta. Listen to me. Mom said that I had to set you all free, because you all deserved your freedom." Touko replied. The cat hissed at her once more. "Sparta." Touko said. The purple cat glanced over at her. "I set you free. But I didn't dump you in the garbage and told you I never wanted to see you again! You knew you could've always come to visit me if you wanted to! But you took it the wrong way." The cat's eyes widened. Never thinking about it that way. "I never left you for dead. I've cared for you Sparta. I did it because I thought you would all be happy in the wild. Where you would be with other Purrloins, away from humans. Sparta stared at her and blinked. "I understand if you hate me right now, but just know, that I would never do anything to hurt you."

"Touko, I don't think he's going to listen. Who knows how many ideas that jerk put into his head..." Touya said, helping her stand up. Touko walked over to Sparta, he jumped, ready to attack her. She pet Sparta on the head. He was tense, but relaxed a little bit.

"See yah Sparta. Maybe, you'll have it in your heart to forgive me.." Touko said. And so. Sparta sat there, as they left toward the Pokemon Center, pondering on what to do.

--------------------

Rindiny: I wonder what Sparta will do?

Touko: Is he gonna be OK?

Rindiny: Yeah. He just- Hey. Didn't you ask the same thing about N in the last chappie? WTF

Touko: Oh yeah! Speaking of that. Why is N such a jerk?

Rindiny: Well. Let's just say I read something on what Junichi Masuda revealed about N? And well. He says N.... Has extreme mood swings....

Touko: You don't say?

Rindiny: Yup! And he doesn't- Oh, here's the list. OK!? It says-

With his high IQ, N exceeds average humans.
A genius, N excels in math enough to be called a math wizard.
N is quick-witted and has extreme mood swings.
N can see the past and future of people.
N believes he was born from Pokémon; the parents are unknown.
N loves Pokémon but keeps his distance from humans.
    N believes he's perfect.
Always putting Pokémon first is N's ideology.
Given how he is, he has been shunned by humans. In effect, he has a very strong connection with Pokémon.

Touko: Wow.. Wait. He can see my past and future!?

Rindiny: Somehow, he can't do it with you! So, you don't count on his list of fortune telling.

Touko: Awwww..

Rindiny: Next chappie? Is gonna be called- Oh wait... no never mind. See yah guys!
Woot! That was really quick! This chappie was easy anyway.
